Dj Zinhle, Thabiso Makhubela, Dj Stunna And Nv Funk To Wow Crowds At Zeitz Mocaa 2022 Gala Party

Tickets are now on sale for the Zeitz MOCAA Gala Party, the fundraising event to benefit professional advancement and education at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) in Cape Town, South Africa. Presented in collaboration with longstanding partner Gucci, the event promises to be a highlight on the social calendar of art enthusiasts and philanthropists from across the globe.

The theme of the 2022 Gala, Art & Opulence, draws inspiration from When We See Us: A Century of Black Figuration in Painting, a new exhibition set to open on the same weekend. In addition to a special preview of the exhibition, partygoers will be kept entertained by emcee for the night, Expresso presenter and radio personality Thabiso Makhubela, known for his charm on one of Mzansi’s top daytime shows. Capetonian DJ Stunna will get the party started before NV Funk brings his signature style of house-meets-live-drums to Zeitz MOCAA’s atrium. South African DJ, producer, media personality and businesswoman DJ Zinhle is set to close off the festivities.

“We are pleased to be able to gather old and new friends to celebrate not only the opening of this momentous exhibition but also this wonderful museum that continues to position itself as a civic space within its surrounding locale and the global art community,” says Kouoh. “This year’s Gala and its theme of Art & Opulence looks to acknowledge our achievements in the last three years and what we aim to achieve going forward, further cementing the position of art from Africa and its diaspora across the global contemporary art landscape.”

The 2022 Zeitz MOCAA Gala, supported by Gucci, will take place on Saturday, 19 November at the museum situated in the Silo District at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. Gala Party tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at zeitzmocaa.museum/gala.

The Gala is Zeitz MOCAA’s largest development event of the year and its proceeds yield approximately 30% of the museum’s annual exhibitions and education budget. The event is essential to the institution’s mission of promoting art education and community engagement, and is further supported by the V&A Watefront, Radisson Hotel Group, the Mail & Guardian, YourLuxury Africa and Hidden Valley Wines, with BMW South Africa as the official vehicle partner.
